I recently purchased a 1979 321 which I am refurbishing. I need to replace most of the stanchions and I need at least a usable main sail. So, if any one has either of the above or a good lead on them I would be most appreciative. Thanks. Marshall

Baconsails in Annapolis is your best source for used

sails. What is wrong with your stanchions that you need to replace them?

replying on sails and stanchions

The stanchions are missing or bent pretty bad. Bought this boat from a guy via marine salvage...and while hull is in pretty good shape, there is some damage around the toe railing...guess the boat did a little dance with the pier in a storm. Marshall

Marshall, Maybe the guy you bought it from

has some bits and pieces. Also there is Sailorman in Ft Lauderdale. They have most everything and there is last and probably least Ebay.

Some ideas

Sailorman is a great spot for getting lots of used gear and some new, but the word is they are soon to be sold out, so the long tradition might be ending soon. Garhauer is a great place to get custom stainless steel work done. They have a catalog of usual stock items, but if you have, for an example, a stanchion you need duplicated, they most likely can do it for you if you provide a sample for them to work with. As already mentioned, Bacon and Associates on Legion Street in Annapolis, MD is a great source for used sails. They have sails from dinghies like Optimists all the way up to Whitbread boats. Huge selection and they are wonderful to work with. If you don't like the sail you bought you can return it for a full refund within a certain window of time. Tops in Quality is also a good source for new lifeline stanchions. They are located in Michigan and have a stock of lots of stainless boating products that involve tubing, like rails, stanchions and ladders. Good luck

Parts at the Scurvy Dog

Paul Thanks for your tip. I am familiar with the Scurvy Dog.....I also have a C-25 on a trailer stored in the Pennsy Boat Yard that I will put on the sale block as soon as I have the 321 outfitted....so, I go by Scurvy all the time when I am down there. I will have my friend, Richard (has an Out Islander) go by there and check for me. Please leave me your email if you respond again...would like to stay in touch with folks who also have Morgans...or just expand my acquaintenceships in general with other sail boat owners. Thanks again. Marshall Picow mspski@aol.com
