wood & glass hatches dont like the fiberglass slider one i have and want to build a wood one w/ windows

Companionway hatches...
I seem to recall a discussion here about companionway hatches, that included a lot of photos or links to photos. I tried to search in the archive but couldn't remember what the type of wood used. It wasn't teak but it was a white type of wood, or maybe it looked like wood. There were lots of examples. Sorry I am not much help, but maybe someone will remember and post a link. Good luck.
