O'day 25's and 26's

I'm looking for an O'day 26 or 25. I live in FL.

TIA,

John
John,

I have a 26 that I bought three years ago as a project boat. They are out there, but are few and far between. Lots of 25's but conditions vary. Have you checked the classified ads on this web site?

I know of an early 25 being sold for parts. At this point about all that is left is the hull. It sustained consideralbe water damage and owner did not want to rebuild, so he has parted it out. Mast and rudder went early. Are you into doing a complete rebuild?

I've restored boats but I want something in "sailable" condition, ready for the winter sailing season.

John,

It sounds like you want a bigger boat than a 22 footer, but look at this boat and see if it meets your expectations:

www.rhodes22.com

This guy makes new boats but also refurbishes boats, especially boats that he originally built. He has been refurbishing boats for over 25 years.

Email Stan and ask him what besides his boats he has available.
Sometimes he has other boats than what he originally built, but you have to contact him to find out what he has. It is a mom and pop operation by a guy who is in his 80's. Last fall he was rebuilding a Catalina 25, but that have been a contract rebuild for a owner/customer.

Just happens some years ago he sold a boat to a computer wiz and was given the original web site. His operation is not as big as his web site. He knows me so feel free to say I told you about him. If you want to call him the phone number is on the web site, but it best to wait until after 11 A.M. to call him, since he has to set up the day's work for his helpers. As I said notwithstanding the fancy web site, it is a small operation.

Thanks, I'm familiar with the Rhodes 22 and have met the builder at a boat show years ago. I recently sold a Precision 23 and want to move up to an O'day 26 or a 25 after much research. I've sailed the 25, a friend owned one a few years back. I built him a wing rudder to replace the O'day original. It worked well, never ran aground again, rudder first;-).
