Looking for my bilge pump

My electrical panel has a switch for an automatic bilge pump. Can some one shed some light on this mystery? I also do not see any place for manually pumping the bilge. Am I just blind? I have ordered the owners manual for this boat, but I won't have it for about another month (says Catalina Direct), so until then I will probably be pestering ya'll with questions.

Bilge on a C22

Ahh...the C22 bilge. It's all over the place. For some reason, there's no centralized bilge area belowdecks. There's even a ridge along the centerline to break up pooling water. This is very frustrating at times, and I have not found a new way to do it yet. Keith K.

bilge

hello robbin, what you have is a generic switch panel that will allow you to add a bilge pump. I think, on the Catalina 22, a pump may have been an option, and the manual bilge pump usually has a discharge/intake hose that you can place where you find water, and the most convenient easily accessed outside of the boat place. because of the bilge is so small and spread out, there is no one good low spot to put it. john

Pump

There's a hand pump you can buy at West Marine for somewhere around $30 that's grey and works like a champ. Looks sort of like a bicycle pump but bigger. If you want a reliable manual pump, that would be a good one. LaDonna
