Looking for Interest in a Trailer Sailor Event at Lake Texom

Ahoy, My name is Captain Bob. We are considering a Trailer Sailor event around the first week of April at Lake Texoma if there is interest in the Trailer Sailor and Pocket Cruiser community. I am with Texoma Destinations and we have a Great location at Lighthouse Resort and Marina where we would hold the event. We are located on the Little Mineral Arm near Pottsboro Texas, 60 miles north of Dallas. We have a launch ramp, moorage, cabins, RV sites, camping and banquet facilities at the Lighthouse and our other properties. We would like to put on a Fun Event with some sailing activities, meet up with old friends and meet some new ones. With the Lake Havasu event being cancelled we thought perhaps there might be some interest in a Gathering at Lake Texoma. We are currently in the "thought" stage of the event. If you find this might be of interest to you please send me an email as the greater the interest we receive, the better the chances we will be able to move forward with an event. Thanks !

You might contact the BOOTS group who get together on Lake Texhoma. They normally stage out of Cedar Mills. Sorry I do not know any of them, but ran into them a couple of years ago. I know of a couple of trailer sailors that will be interested. How is your ramp when the lake is low?

Thanks for your interest ! We have two ramps and have had no problems launching large vessels from them. If lake levels were to drop significantly lower in the future we would dredge our ramps in insure they are useable. I will be contacting Boots soon to invite their group and to avoid any Event Scheduling conflicts once we have set some dates.

Ahoy, We have set the dates for our Trailer Sailor/Pocket Cruiser Event at The Lighthouse Resort and Marina on Lake Texoma as April 10th - 13th 2015 We will have some Fun Sailing, Good Food and a chance to meet some new friends, perhaps see some old friends, share knowledge and enjoy the splendor of Lake Texoma. We are still in the development stages of our event so I will keep you updated. I will be happy to answer any questions as we move forward. Thank You for your Interest !

I just went to your WEB site to see the facility. It looks like you do not have any open slips for sailboats at the facility. I don't know about others but I am not interested in having to launch and retrieve every day.

I have owned an 2005 Precision P23 for last 3 years and this boat has never let me down. It performs beautifully upwind. Easy to beach. Plenty of room for 2 people down below for long stays. My brother and I have gone out for 5 days at a time with no problems at all.
Boat has a reputation for being tender. I have been in 30 mph winds with no problem. I was doubled reefed. Boat starts to get uncomfortable at 4 footers with short intervals. Boat will take it fine but you won't like for long. Easy to trailer. I now keep mine in a slip. My cabin stays dry. The stove sink and potty are all adequate. I could wish for more head room. If you look hard enough you can find you a nice one for about 20k or less. Trailer included. Older ones are more available at much less. Good service from factory as well.

We are interested in attending. Is preregistering required? We are close enough to watch the weather before commiting.
