Looking for info on "Kiwi" sailboats

I am looking for some info on a brand of boat called Kiwi. They were made for racing and apparently are no longer in business. Has anyone heard anything about them? Were they any good? They seem very "beamy" for a racer. Is there an owner's group or a web site? My searches have not produced any information at all. Thank you. Jim

Kiwi Boats

Kiwi Boats were in Australia and built racing boats, they are no longer around. I nearly bought a Farr 42 built about 1982 but she had suffered from a hard life and could not agree on price with the owner after a poor survey. She is probably still for sale lying (in transit) in U.K. near Plymouth.

Anything more?

Tom, Thank you. Can you tell me anything more? Did they enjoy a good reputation, were they well made? I am looking at one that was built for racing in 1978 as a first time project boat. Any ideas on potential sources of info? I see the designer, Ron Holland has gone on to better things - that is a good sign. Thanks for any additional info you can offer.

Bruce at Elliot Bay Yacht Sales

One individual I'd try is Bruce at Elliot Bay Yacht Sales in Seattle. He is really knowledgeable about sailboats from that area. He is a Kiwi (New Zealander) and just returned a few weeks ago from checking out boats and the races down there. Try checking in Google for Elliot Bay Yacht Sales and see what you get. Hope this helps.
