Some time ago I ran across a web site that listed the P, E, I ,and J for many boats. I am sure it was on a sail makers web site, but dang if I can remember. There is one here at Sailboatowners, com, but I think the data for my boat is not correct. I have a Lancer 27PS, 1985. Anyone have any links to sites containing data on P, E, I ,and J of different boat designs? Thanks!

Those are the same figures

I got off of this site. I cannot confirm that they are correct. I won't doubt that they are either. But I somehow recall seeing different figures. How can "I" be shorter than "P"? Is not I from deck to top of mast and P from boom to top of mast? I am interested in getting a crusing spinnaker and would hate to have the wrong figures. Thanks Phil.

Google

I googled "Sailboat Rig Dimensions" and came up with several. I've used this one before. http://www.mauriprosailing.com/techinfo/boatspecs/boatspecs.htm

Fractional Rig

If I am not mistaken, "I" is the vertical dimension of the forestay, so if the boat has a fractional rig, it is possible for the "I" dimension to be less than "P".

Thanks

Mauri Pro is where I found the data. Thanks Sailor Tim. I see it is the same as Sailbaotowners.com. So I stand corrected Phil. Scott, you're right. D'oh!

you can alway raise a tape up the mast!

Brian: You can alway raise a tape up the mast. That is what the sailmakers require you to do anyway.

sail dims

check here at the sail loft, or at baconsails.com, and a few other used sail sites, often you'll find that some of the used sail sellers have conservative measurements, bacons seems to be pretty accurate all around. Do a search usingh original specs while on bacons, and they'll offer a drop down list with the boat manufacturers, which will bring you to a list of that makers boats each boat has an accompanying list of specs. sailright is also fairly accurate. Ken.
