Some anchorages
North side of Kelly's (already mentioned)East side of Middle Bass - great sandy spot tucked in at the north end.Never been there, but I'll bet that the west side of Middle Bass would be fine in a Nor'easter.South Bay of Pelee (already mentioned) If your cell phone works, you can check in to Canada by phone.North Side of Sandusky Bay. We stayed a night between the two islands north of the coal terminal. (Watch out for new shoal water at the north side of the entrance to the bay.)Enjoy the stay. These are all good anchorages, but none of them have a perfect 360 degree protection. The first time I went to Put-in-Bay, you could anchor where the mooring balls are now. Ahh the good old days! If you can afford it, though, a mooring ball there is a great place to stay. All the advantage of anchoring out, plus a very competent and high service water taxi to take you ashore whenever the whim strikes.DavidLady Lillie
