Looking for advise Jabsco Diaphragm Bilge Pump Model 36960-2000 not draining

I have a Jabsco diaphragm bilge pump (model 36960-2000) that’s not draining any water. I’ve already checked all the hose fittings and cleaned the strainer, but it’s still not working.


Has anyone had a similar issue with this pump? If so, were you able to repair it, or did you end up rebuilding or replacing the pump altogether?


Any suggestions or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There is a rubber diaphragm and a couple thin metal parts in the valves which can fail. I rebuilt one with a failed diaphragm and replaced one where the metal valve seats had rusted away. Repair kits were readily available then, not sure now. Attached is a cutaway drawing shows parts I mentioned.
