I just acquired a 1978 S2-9.2A with a 1978 vintage Yanmar YSB12 deisel. I have only one key for it. It looks like a standard Yanmar blank (no special filings) and has 120 stamped on one side. A dealer tells me this key was discontinued after 1978.

I would like to acquire one (or two) spare key(s). Does anyone know where I might get one or more?

Looks like key alone is no longer available. Scroll to bottom of page for a table on keys for each model.

The original key is no longer available as a key alone. You must order a switch and key combination, part number: 123482-91251

Fin a good locksmith and ask them to duplicate the key. I had a YSE8 in a previous boat and could not get a key form Yanmar either. The locksmith duplicated the key "nio guarantees" for a few bucks and the key worked grst.

I had an old panel like this, and the key mechanism was so worn that I could use either a small screwdriver or another key that "sort of" looked the same size. If I remember right I used a Masterlock small key. Might be worth a try, just don't force anything. I've seen this done with quite a few old Yanmar key switches.
