Are you looking for a symetrical or asymetrical spinnaker? I have an asymetrical in excellent condition on my Hunter 28.5.

I am looking for an asymetrical. How do you like it and how does it perform?

It performs quite well the times I have used it; which have been very few. I have it in a new dousing sock so it is easy to set and take down. Most of the time we are casually sailing with friends, and never change the headsail.

Do you have any pictures or diagram of how you run your lines and which blocks you are using or the anchor points for your blocks. I just ordered my spinnaker from FX Sails and can't wait to get it and start sailing again in the spring.
Cheers and Merry Christmas

I don't have any diagrams. I use a simple setup to fly the spinnaker. My boat has a Harken furler, so the headsail is furled. I run the tack line to a block on the stemplate attached to where the snap shackle would normally be for the tack of a hank on sail, and then to one of the bow cleats for cleating. To adjust the tack height I have to send a person to the bow, but it works for me. A better setup would be to run the tack line through a couple of fairlead blocks along the deck and cabin top to a cam cleat in order to adjust the tack of the sail from the cockpit. I will probably do this for my boat. For the sheet and guy lines, I use snatch blocks that I attach to the toe rail. I set up these lines such that the spinnaker is tacked or gybed through the fore triangle so it works the same as a large genoa. You can also set it up to tack or gybe ahead of the forestay. The sheet and guy lines have to be longer in this case. I hope my rambling makes sense. Congrats on the new sail purchase! I just ordered a new main from fx yesterday.

c22sailor, you say "I set up these lines such that the spinnaker is tacked or gybed through the fore triangle so it works the same as a large genoa." If you do this the spinnaker halyard is going to be destroyed by chafing against the forestay. You are also inviting the spinnaker cloth to get needless wear or possible tears while passing through the fore triangle. Why would you use this procedure when outside gybes work so easily with no risk of damage?

Since I use the dousing sock and rarely gybe once the sail is set, my setup works for me. I can douse the sail, gybe, and then set it again without too much difficulty. If I were going to be doing lots of gybing, I would agree that ahead of the forestay is the way to go.

Good Afternoon
What are the dimensions of your spinnaker, price and do you have a dousing sock?

Regards
