Yup, It's Still Back There . . .
Tim, Although not designed to be trailerable I've heard of it being done and I've also seen enough stories on the net to realize it's certainly possible to trailer a Catalina 27. However, I wouldn't think it's something you'd want to do (in place of a slip) on a weekend basis. A Catalina 27 is relatively heavy (you'd need a bigish vehicle to haul it up any kind of steep launch ramp) not to mention stepping and un-stepping a hundred pound mast even if it's the tabernacle (hinged mast step) variety. Most of the C-27 trailers I've heard about or seen pictures of seemed to be locally manufactured (either by the owner or contracted out to a local machine shop). Try a search for "Catalina 27 trailer" at google.com or boattrader.com, maybe you can find one for sale. Also, I believe Catalina 27s are too wide to be legal on the road, but only by inches. Most of the reports indicated no-one noticed the extra width. Not being able to find a slip is tough. I hope you can get things worked out. Good luck,Nick "Julia Bell" Catalina 27Hull #86
