I'm looking for a source for a new toe rail (port) for my 1987 Hunter 34. Would appreciate any leads.

Rant! Hello Hunter Corp, we know you are lurking

There are on a routine basis requests for toe rail replacements for the mid-eighties vintage Hunters. Why not provide some customer service and have some stock extruded for the various models. Certainly you should have the specs and the buying power. It would help for resale value if you are able to keep parts available instead of shrugging shoulders when asked. They same goes for the Merriman pedestals, i.e. the throttle and shift section of teh pedestal.

No longer made

Needed to have my Port Toe Rail replaced on my 86 Hunter 28.5 because of a Port Starboard collsion. The Marina doing the repair found that it is no longer being made. So both side's had to be replaced. It was not cheap the toe rails were a little over $2000.00 plus shipping. If you are able to splice in a piece I will be going to the boat Sat and had planned on cutting the old toe rail up to recyle. I could end you some. Cliff H 28.5 "Red Dog" cliffr@sbcglobal.net

Cliff, Save the Scraps!

Put them for sale on the classified section of this board. Seems lots of people have been looking for pieces of that stuff over the years.

Another option??

I was at my marina today talking about toe rails with the technical manager. There was a beautiful Hunter 30T that was severely damaged in a wind storm back in October. The wind ripped the aft cleat AND toe rail out of the boat (and the bottom half of the rudder broke off when the boat sank in the mud)...long story short...the manager said that these toe rails were no longer available from Hunter. I have noticed that Beneteau's have a very similar design toe rail on many of their boats...why not try them?
