Hi Tim,
Nice to hear from you. Who are you, where do you live, what is the name of
your Vega, is it possible to sail now or is the lady (your Vega) lying in the
ice? You can reach this article on: www.albinvega.com, then you'll see
flags of 'Veganists' countries, click on the German flag (black-red-yellow)
and your Antarctic journey starts.
Ciao,

hello yvonne,

thanks for the link. yes, we sail fairly often in the
winter here. new england has a nice "frostbiter" crowd
which gets together almost every sunday for a little
blast form marblehead, ma.after tight'n up a lil at
matty's up to the blackburn tavern in gloucester, ma.
and then wind up back in the mystic harbor of salem,
ma. i must say though, i dont always have the vega
out, normally i am in a sonar. but i sailed the vega a
couple of weeks ago out to provencetown on cape cod,
about a 90 mile jaunt each way which was a good time.
the "rum ration" even lasted which was nice as it did
get a bit chilly out there. the next journey for the
winter will be to portland maine, a couple of boats
were heading up last weekend however a fairly big
storm blew in on the east coast so we had to put it
off. i have vega#482 named "2Z", had it for about 6
years now and logged quite a bit on travels in it.
started the journey in chicago and sailed out to the
east coast and then down to florida. played around a
winter in the islands and then headed back to the
boston area, north shore. some great sailing out here
and specatular views. nothing like a run out to the
bank on a saterday morning, bobbing like a cork with
whales all around, and then watch a nice sunset and
ride the moonbeams back to port. after doing this
once, i found a new home so here i am in mass.

be well,
tim
