Looking for a specific type of sail stop

I have a Hunter 26 that has an "L" shaped sail stop with stamped wings that goes into a drilled hole above the slug slot of the mast. You insert it and let the short leg of the "L" swing down to vertical and it is locked. I thought it may have come with the mast, but now I don’t think so. I need to buy one and I can’t find it anywhere. Has anyone seen this before and knows who made it or where to get one? This is so much better than the traditional sail stops. Easy to use and impossible to drop with the lanyard.

buying one would be easy.... but finding one to buy is probably a bit tougher...... im sure from the photo, it would be easy to make one if it was necessary.... a piece of stainless rod heated and stamped flat.....

Yes, it looks homemade. Why would you need two of them?

You can also contact Hunter and see if they know. What is the mfg of your spar?

Not homemade

I have a z-spar mast and sent them an email but no reply yet. I need a new one for a friend and after days of searching everywhere I am thinking maybe I'll also get a spare one for me! This is sooo much easier than a screw on slug style.

Slight derail - one of the owners of our model of boat, a machinist, fabricated a nifty insert which would fill the mast opening to capture the slugs. The advantage is that the dropped sail sits closer to the boom. It works really well.

The 'maker' is no longer making them, anyways they're fairly custom to the mast... but maybe some of you are inspired to make something similar.
