looking for a rudder for 42'Catalina

We are live aboards headed South, we just suffered rudder damage last week in a storm in NJ.
Catalina says 4 weeks to make a new rudder. It will be cold in NJ if we wait,,,,
Any one have a clue where we could find a used rudder until we get a bit further south.
We own a 1989 Catalina 42'.

How bad is the damage to your rudder, is there any chance of making a temporary repair?

Try calling around to some marine salvage yards in NJ. A lot of boats where scrapped after Sandy. Maybe you could find one.

I got a replacement rudder for my 26' from a great company in the US that shipped it to me within a week. http://www.ruddercraft.com They are nylon rudders and are better than factory standard. They make them for all size boats. You may want one of these instead of Catalina's because it will likely be better and faster and maybe even cheaper.
