Looking for a Replacement Anchor Roller Wheel

Hi All,

My anchor roller wheel is pretty beat up and doesn't turn well. I'd like to replace it.

The dimensions seem a bit uncommon. I've been looking online for a replacement but no luck.

4" diameter, 3 1'2" wide, 3/4" diameter inner hole.

Any suggestions where I might look? I can't find anything.

The roller itself says "AB Industries ABI". I think they are out of business?

I used one of the yellow plastic rollers from a boat trailer. Had to trim the sides very slightly to fit, but it has held up very well

You can just see it in this picture

Perhaps some wandering thru the vast warehouse-on-line at McMaster-Carr is in order??

Sully75,

Check with Phil at SBO. He has a solution that he is about to market that may help you.

Buy some round Delrin stock in the appropriate diameter, cut to length and drill. You can get it machined cheaply if need the hourglass shape. Will probably outlast your boat.

If Phil doesn't have it, try Catalina Direct. You also don't really need the hourglass shape if the sides of your roller are reasonably high. The other suggestions are good, too. Good luck.

I'm with those who suggest the boat trailer rollers. We've used the hard yellowish ones with great success, getting at least 3 years from them for just a few bucks. Our anchor is 88#, with all chain and we are anchored almost every day of the year (except for a one week haul out). When the yellowish ones weren't available, we tried the softer black rubber one and it failed in just a few months.
