My brother and I are sailing with our 6 and 11 year old sons. Looking for a marina in Mystic, CT that is within walking distance to downtown. A pool and 30A service would be very much preferred. Any suggestions on which one to use? Thanks in advance.

Mystic Marina

Mystic Shipyard: It is a longish walk to town but there is a pool. They have a loaner car for short trips. Taxi service is available. Its before the bridges so you don't have to deal with the openings. There is still a bit of breeze there which isn't the case sometimes further up the river. Make sure your boat is registered or you may receive a bill from CT., as is the case with many other marinas in CT. Get your ice before 4:30. Nice rest rooms. Excellent rigging services if you need anything done.

Brewer Mystic

We try to stay at the Brewer yard in Mystic. It's a short walk to downtown Mystic and about 25 minutes to Mystic Seaport. Floating docks, pool and a food service for breakfast and lunch. Downside is that it is right next to (just before) the RR swing bridge and is the last marina on the river. We did not like Mystic Shipyard with their fixed (non-floating) docks and 6 ft tides. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info.

I will try to get into one of these two. Were the trains really loud at Brewer Mystic?
