A week and a half ago I ran the trailer wheels of my H26 trailer off the side of a broken-edged and six inch burm drop-off Mexican highway. The tires blew, the trailer went into a skid and my whole rig went off the road. Lucky for me it was almost level right there and the van stayed on it's wheels. The boat and trailer however weren't so lucky. The trailer tipped, the boat broke loose from the trailer and rolled a 360. The stanchions and stern rail seats got flattened, the hull took some scrapes and gouges, my $500.00 companion-way doors got busted, but everything considered the boat faired pretty well. I think the mast, which stayed tied on top, is even OK although the crutch broke off. Its a helluva note to "turtle" your boat on the hard! My Boat U.S. insurance investigator said as long as the water ballast tank or the swing keel connection (the swing keel stayed secured up under the boat) were not damaged, the boat is repairable. The trailer however is shot. Twisted tongue, bent axels, broken off bunks risers and fenders, etc. I'm going to be needing a new trailer for my H26. If they fix my boat, I'm still going to be doing a lot of trailering so I need a GOOD trailer. Any ideas where I can pick one up?
