We have an O'Day 25 and were looking at the picture of the O'Day 25 on the web site. It had a Dodger cover. Does anyone out there know were to get one? Thanks, Hank jacquiehank@dellnet.com

Dodger

I recently posted a picture of my 1980 O'day 25 "knot home" with the dodger in place. I bought the boat about a year ago complete with lots of receipts for the many upgrades by the previous owner - it looked as if he never used the dodger. As a matter of fact, I did not even know it had a dodger until he pulled it out of the garage as I was leaving with the boat. I have not found any receipts for the dodger and have not seen a brand name/tag on the dodger itself. Therefore, I can't help much, but next time I see the previous owner I will ask if he knows anything about it and forward the info to you. Jon

Knot Home Dodger

Hi Jon! How's da Boat? Knot Home came with the unused dodger and I doubt the the prior owners used it either (Knot Much). I don't know its origin, but a good place to start would be a sail maker (if you are fortunate enough to have a local sail loft or canvas shop). Have fun, Denny Rowe, O'Day 20/Bayliner20

Most Sail Lofts and Boat Top Makers...

should be able to help. Ask for references, or pix of their handiwork, preferably on the same or similar boat. There are enough OD25's around, the shop should have come across one. You have some choices available you may want to consider, including material (there are other fabrics besides Sunbrella), frame (stainless or aluminum), extra hand holds (some I've seen mount on the sides of the bimini), extra zippers (for dodger extensions or tieing into biminis), bug netting, etc. The boom sheet tackle is a consideration on our 25's, as is the placement of snaps or turn buttons, so I would recommend a visit to your boat from the canvass maker, unless they know this model well. We can do it for ya!

I spoke with Karisa in the chandlery a minute ago, and she is going to confirm this, but we should be able to build you a dodger for your O'day. Call her at 206-WEB-SAIL tomorrow and she'll be happy to help you out. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Dodger

That answers the question about the dodger on "Knot Home". I should have thought Denny Rowe (previous owner) would be checking on this site! Hey Denny, The boat's great. Not using it as much as I'd like, but you know how that goes. Would love to chat with you about the boats. My e-mail address is jmmoore@cableone.net Jon
