Looking for a 50s/60s/70s sail boat to feature in a fashion photoshoot..

AMEL Super mare London
I am based in the UK.
I have been shooting for 15 years, events, fashion, PR etc, I am looking to develop my photography portfolio more and will be incorporating a few different elements.
I have a singer songwriter as well as clothing supply from some well known fashion brands, all I need now is a vintage sailing boat. Ideally bigger than picture example attached but anything will do!
The theme will be vintage, classy, rustic, cinematic and timeless. Attached is an image I shot to show the style (obviously with more boat features to be added).

I am unsure if this site is solely USA, obviously I need to shoot in the UK...
Does anyone have any kind of similar boat? Know anyone that does?
Look forward to info.
Thanks.

You might try google searching for sailing clubs in the UK. At least England + Scotland + Wales would be (mostly) driveable in a day. Most folks who have the kind of boats you are looking for are happy to show them off. You may also want to contact the Royal Yachting Association for ideas.

As to your other point, I think this site gets traffic from all over the world. It is heavily weighted to the US, but we see folks posting from around the globe.

You might contact, Classic Yachts - Sandeman Yacht Company and talk to Iain Iain McAllister. He may be able to direct you to the nearest area of photogenic 50, 60 or 70 year old sailboats.

There are more here in my harbor than you can shake a stick at.

BTW, that is a Concordia yawl you have at the docks. There were 200 of those built (mostly) at the Walstead yard in Germany. A US design, they are very popular in my area and very photogenic.

I would think many are in Marina’s in the British Isles if listed as such.

Are these at sea or dry docked in land? Doesn't seem obvious?
One of the moderators of the classic boat show was British. Don't recall his name right now, but there were many boats shown that were over your way. If Denmark is within your scope, there is s large classic boat group there.

Our very own TomJ has posted many beautiful images of classic yachts on this forum. Search under his name. I'm confident his work is ad copy worthy - but I'm not expert in this area. You can also find images for ads by Benjamin Mendlowitz of Wooden Boat Calendar fame. He has thousands of images of classic yachts.
I don't understand needing to shoot in UK. I'm sure there's a reason but images travel.

what is a classic yacht?
Great question. I'm currently trying to sell a bunch of bows I own and anything pre 1999 is considered "vintage".... Now, classic??? No clue!

However, if you look at cars - this is found on the web:

What exactly is a classic car?

Usually, to have the title of a classic car, the vehicle will need to be at least 20 years old. Antique cars are over 45 years old. Vintage cars are built between 1919 and 1930.

So, shall we decide amongst ourselves the difference between "classic" and "vintage"?

at least 20 years old
WOW.. I never knew the standard... Lets see. My boat was launched in 1974. So that makes her 48 years old. 4 plus decades... She must be a Double Classic...

Yeah, classic in cars has an impact on insurance. And every year that goes by, it's one more year of being dropped into the "classic" car category. So my 2001 VW diesel (that I sold to my godson) I would technically now be able to get classic car insurance for it! Blows my mind...

i'm thinking it is more than age. like john's cal, the design has stood the test of time. those old cal's are the best. 'design that has worked so well' all these years. great function must be a part of the definition, i'm thinking.

There is little in the way of wood trim bling, and she won't win a beauty contest.

But when her sails catch the wind... She sure likes to dance.

Here she is doing 7-8 knots on a beam reach coming into Admiralty Inlet, just off Point Wilson in 2017... Blown out sails, trimmed to dump the wind, a following sea and just about to finish a 9 hour sail from Port Browning on Pender Isle in BC.

A friend of mine was looking for her second family (4) boat. In explaining what she was looking for, upfront she quietly - and not at all pretentiously - mentioned, " ....you know, a classic boat".

I got it. After extensive looking and without any recommendation from me, she picked a 60's Hinckley Pilot 35. This showed real savvy on her part. She'd spent
over 10 years sailing with a reluctant spouse and 2 young boys on 26' Stonehorse and taught them all to love it. Many would look at the H Pilot as 'too small below, too slow. She knew better from experience and found a classic sailboat that appealed to her.

The proof of her choice for me was her spouse, a reluctant sailor for years is now an eager sailing partner.

@TomY there has always been something about wooden hulled boats that is just different. I'm not talking about beauty, that of course is in the eyes of the beholder. But rather the way they go through the water. I don't know how to describe it, they just feel differently going through the water than boats made from any other materials. They somehow seem to glide better, or feel more "in-tune" with the water. I've no idea how to explain it, i can just feel it when sailing in a wooden boat...

Do you know what I'm saying? Perhaps have another way to express it?
