I've been looking for a backup anchor for the Fortress I currently have and know some of you are replacing your CQR for newer technology so if you're dumping your CQR plow let me know.

Hey RG,
I have a 35# CQR in Ventura West. What are you looking to pay for it? I have purchased another boat and an getting a Mason Supreme for it.

Let me know.

In almost every anchor topic I've read (and, guess what, there ARE a "few"!:)), someone invariably asks: "What's your boat worth to you?" CQRs have been aorudn for a long time and were once the standard of the industry. Once, like once upon a time...

Unless you size your entire anchor SYSTEM based on wind and boat size, or have decided that a 35# CQR would be overkill for your boat, I recommend that you do due diligence to make sure you can sleep at night. I don't know where you sail or in what conditions you may need to anchor.

Good luck.
