I would like to replace 10mm chain with 8mm. So I am looking for windlass gypsy. Windlass is Leroy Somer S801. They were installed on Beneteau's and Jeanneau's in late 90's.

It is not often that a boat owner desires to reduce the size of his boat's anchoring system.
You may be forced to seek your part from a boat parts recycler. Or you may find that the spline gear used in your windlass matches the gypsy of a current manufacturer. It will be a search.

For 8m boat, 10mm chain is a overkill due to its weight. Would like to have 50m 8mm chain instead of 30m 10mm chain.
Windlass shaft of Leroy Somer is special shape so no chance to find one from other producers.

I understand the challenge. Seems wasteful not to be able to adapt an older windlass to your current needs. The S801 was made from 1990 to 2000. It’s been out of production for 25 years.
Perhaps you might find a used unit from a boat salvage yard.
More likely you will need to find a replacement windlass, if you can’t find a machine shop to make one for you.
Perhaps the Lewmar Pro Fish 1000 can be fashioned to fit the space.
