Looking Better

It's looking much better this morning for all you East Coast sailors. Just pulled up Storm Track, and the predictions now are for top winds of 45. Yesterday forecast was for top winds of 70 at some point along it's path. I hope this holds true, and all of you fair well. Hell, you may even get in some good sailing from it.

Thanks, Nice N Easy! it's pouring like cats and dogs, and blowing about 25-30-but the seas aren't too big. Tomorrow's forecast:80's,sunny,light winds and calm seas!

Gorgeous here in Ohio but a little too windy for my Highlander. I went out today to chase and watch the guys and gals go 'round the buoys. Three times I had more than 2/3 of the boom in the water. Talkin' 80 degrees of heel here, not 30 or 40! You think sailing is not exercise? Try this boat in 20+.

I still get warnings from my old marina on Pamlico Sound and they have stood down from Danny.

Thankfully another miss...

I'll take it. My Mother is also doing better tonight. Drained an nasty abscess yesterday and she is recovering rapidly. She is one tough cookie for a 73 yo.

This year has been almost a complete bust!

Between a late start due to drought, then 3 months of near constant rain starting in June, this year has not been good for sailing. With the stress from not working and deciding to start my own business, and the dreary weekends with rain, humidity and no wind, and an unusual series of things to fix on the boat, I can count the number of times we actually raised the sails on one hand. Then I was out of town for 2 weeks.

Today, finally (!!!), we had a day of sunshine, mid 70's, the humidity disappeared by late morning, and we actually had 12 to 18 knot breezes with great sailing, a little bit gusty and the wind shifts were tiresome, but who's complaining!
