Yes it would. They actually pump water, sewage and fuel to keep things balanced.

Ok, update. It was just recently replaced.

I guess I need to check to make sure it is plumb and level.

Bought the boat.
Everything is on the port side
Spare anchor
Spare tiller
Spare lines - including many no longer servable.
Black water tank which I believe has waste in it and it it missing the cap so it takes on water every time it rains.
Cleaning away weight mates.

Yep, time to re-distribute gear to the starboard side......Always amazed how many expired flares, out of date, non-working electronics, pumps, etc. old and tired lines and fenders AND unpumped-out holding tanks are left by the Seller..............its almost like finding hidden treasures. I am still finding stuff tucked away on a boat I bought lasty year. Good luck! and get out and sail!

That's why I would take almost everything off the boat for layup. Plus we raced and were pretty diligent about weight.
A holding tank not pumped out is a mortal sin.
