Bleeding Process
All following is from the Yanmar owners class.Obviously, the valve at the tank is open and fuel is passing the primary filter. But this must be a 30 micron filter "only," the lift pump will not pull fuel through one with smaller pores. This will be "color coded red." There are two pumps; the "lead pump", that is the one with the flipper lever to bleed the rest of the system, and the "injector pump," the one I understand you feel is faulty.Follow this procedure:1. Open the bleed on the top of the fuel filter, 10m wrench. After the bubbles stop, re-tighten.2. Open the bleed on the face of the fitting at tha end of the line where the fuel enters the "injector pump." Again, use the flipper to pump all air out and fuel is coming to the injector pump. Close the bleed.3. Use a 17m wrench to crack open all of the high pressure lines to the injectors. Important to do all at once. Cover with some heavy rags as this fuel will be at very high pressure and may spray far, best to close the compartment.4. Open the cylinder pressure relief and the throttle wide open and crank for 5 seconds. Stop and re-tighten all lines to the injectors.5. Clean up, close the pressure relief, say a short prayer, and go for it!PS: Liquid Dawn is reputed to be the most effective for cleaning up fuel and lubricants as it contains bugs that eat petroleum. It is also biodegradable.Good Luck.
