I am considering this material to replace a 25 year-old Teak and holly veneer whic has given up the ghost. I read one reviewer who said it was " slick as snot" when wet. I've got a sample which they sent me, and I'm not convinced either way. Let's have it...what's your experience?

boats are using... Composition Constructed in multiple layers with a smooth surface, LONWOOD Teak-Holly is composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, plasticizers, fillers, and pigments. I'll bet it is ok. PVC is plastic so it could get slick when wet. How offer does your cabin sole get wet? The finish on my wood sole is slick too. I put rug down on top of my sole so even if it does get wet, it is not a problem.

Lonseal
We replaced our old rotted out boards with Lonseal. We made new boards from marine plywood and thoroughly coated them with expoxy. Then we glued the Lonseal to the boards with the glue they recommended. The material has remained flat with no curling at the edges. After two years the sole still looks like new. Lonseal makes a shiny and a non-shiny version of this material with the shiny versions looking like varnish. We are using the non shiny version since the shiny version didn't look right next to my other woodwork. It is possible the shiny stuff is more slippery than the un-shiny. We are very happy with this material and recommend it highly.

See the link for my installation. The slick comment is nonsense at least as it relates to the non-gloss finish. In fact, it is a great non-skid. I suspect it is true for the gloss finish too. I'd go back to your source and ask what their real experience was with it. Rick D.
