Log books

No one in my family has any interest in my log books. They aren't diaries, they are log books, with mostly one line entries every 4 hours at sea. Some are from sailing boats, others tugs, freighters and fishing boats, etc.
I'm not looking for someone to write a book or any other commercial enterprise, I just think it would be a shame to toss them all in a dumpster.
Any ideas?

Small maritime museums where you sailed might be interested in them. I"m thinking of a museum in the Caribbean where you ran your charter.

If you were going to dispose of them so they don't take up space, you could have a print shop cut off the spines and then you could run them through a sheet fed scanner and digitize them into PDFs first. I did that with some of my old ham radio logbooks from when I was a kid.

I think this is the best suggestion so far—-a maritime museum with a library and a curator/archivist. But it’s hard to find general interest In such materials. Perhaps focus on your most prized—, e.g., Log entries of Skipping Stone, ….dates…

CMES in St Thomas might find a place for some of it (local stuff) in their library. Might end up as a data source for some kind of research project, etc. Or perhaps make contact with a marine professor at the University and offer it along those lines. Some nascent oceanographer might be able to use it to map local currents along your tracks, fine scale. “Gold is where you find it.”
