Has anyone come across software to maintain a log book on the PC?

Have seen them but. . . .

why wouldn't a spreadsheet work as well? What do you want to do that you could not design a Lotus or Excel spreadsheet to do?

Ed has a good suggestion....

.... I started using Excel, and now I can sort and search for anything I need. For example, I saw a boat at a marina that I had seen last year, but forgot the owners name. A quick search made it sound like I was old friends with the guy when we docked. I set the fields to expand and wrap text, and I can be concise or verbose as I feel. Good luck..... Jeff

Nobletech has a 'Vessel Management System'

looks like an old Foxpro or similar application that keeps track of maintenance and inventory, etc. Looks like it's geared more towards the big boat, professional crew trade. For $359, I don't know how many of us are interested. I write this kind of applications for a living, and I've been contemplating doing one for sailboats.... just haven't had the time.
