Locking centerboard keel on Islands 17

The centerboard pivots and most daysailors do not have a lock down on the centerboard or swing centerboard. If you did and ran aground then there would be severe damage with it locked down. I think the wires are merely to raise that board. Take a photo of the deck on top so we can see what is there in way of hardware.
