Locker Hatch Covers

I was wondering if anyone had tried to replace any of the Formica covered pieces of plywood that serve as hatch covers under the cushions. A couple of mine were destroyed before I bought the boat. Water collected in the area under the aft berth and was absorbed by the plywood rotting it out. I have since varnished them so that will not happen again. I have a call in to Mike with parts at Hunter and was just curious if anyone had bought them and how much they were. They would be easy enough to make but if it were not too much more money it would be nice if they all matched. I would strongly recommend that all of y'all put varnishing or painting the bottom of those things on your list of projects. Don't forget the one under the sink the drop leaf table or the one that is screwed in under the v berth while you are at it.

Good Idea I will Add it to my List

I will make that one of my projects for the winter. I have noticed some of mine are discolored from being wet as well. They would be easy to make if you can work a circular saw. Who cares if they match?

Your Right

I figured if they were not too much. Their mill work is all done by computer so I figured not much in labor costs and the material is fairly inexpensive but I still have not heard back from Hunter.

Hunter Vacation time

This is vacation time for many at Hunter, so they have reduced staffing and may not be as quick to respond as usual. Fair winds... Tom
