location of vin number on 1977 Oday Mariner

I trying to locate the vin number on 1977 mariner. Does any one have any suggestions as to where to look.

HIN number- Post 1972, SHOULD be on starboard side of transom, just down from rail. Pre 1972, was none

You should be. All things Mariner are there, including HIN locations, dates and how to interpret them.
The number will be molded right into the gel coat. If the boat had been repainted, it may be hard to read.
