Hey Guys, Quick question: I just got a Raymarine tri-data instrument that measures depth, log & speed. Where should I mount the speed transducer in the hull?? Can anyone tell me where they have theirs mounted?? In front of the keel? To 1 side or the other? Distance from the keel? I'm afraid if I have it on 1 side or the other it will show a faster SOW on 1 tack than another. Thanks, Allen Schweitzer s/v Falstaff C-30 Hull# 632

More than likely you wii get a different reading between tacks no matter where you mount it.

Slightly to port

We just purchased a C-30 which already has the electronics installed, the speed and depth transducers on ours are mounted just port of the centerline accessible from the small door in the forward bulkhead of the head. It seems to work well there and is easily accessible.
