************ Any suggestions on where I might look for good used sails for the C22? Don't have the money for new ones. Thanks!

It may be worth saving for new ones

I am in the same boat as you. My genoa looks like it has definitely seen better days. The entire length of the leech is shredded. I have done some research and opted to but the Catalina Direct off-shore manufactured 135% Genoa from Ulman. The price was very competitive $5something and there is very little waiting (relatively speeking). I haven't recieved it yet but I'll post a review as soon as I have an opinion on this purchase. Apparently the material is US and the design is too, they just send it to China for the low labor cost in sewing the sail together. We will soon find out if it holds up to all the lip service I have gotten so far on the product! Happy sailing!

Used sails

Check out Minney's Sails (I think it's www.galaxymall.com/commerce/minneysails/) as they have tons of used Catalina sails. You can also get a quote from Doyle on this site. I've heard good things about them - Trevor just bought from them for his boat & seems thrilled! LaDonna

Bacon & Associates in Annapolis

Bacon's has a great selection of used sails. Their rating system is tough and honest, so you really know what to expect. Last year I bought a used main from North for my C-27 rated "very good" for $375. It has worked out great. A new main from North would have cost $1,200. Bacon's has a great reputation (been around since 1956) and you get a 10 day inspection period. Their web page sucks and is not up to date (its in the testing stage), but you can call them and they will fax or mail you their list which they update monthly. Good Luck

Another Option?

Jake: Is there someone in your household who is good with a sewing machine? If so you can get new sails for the price of good used ones from sailrite. They sell complete sew your own sail kits for just about any sail boat. You can find them on the web at www.sailrite.com Barry Broyles C22 # 1909 "Brighteyes"
