Does anyone have any "Local Knowledge" of navigation about Gray's Creek which off of the Magathy River on the Chesapeake Bay? It would appear that the entrance in marked but the depth is shown to be only about 3' and I would like to know if it has been dredged and how deep the channel currently is.

Thanks

Bob

Gray's Creek

I draw 4.5 and never have a problem with the entrance (circled in red on the attached.)

Atlantic Marina is on right hand branch. They were talking last season about shutting down their fuel ops, if that's a concern to you.

Maybe 6'?

Thanks for the information and will put the Creek on our cruise list for this summer. The information of the fuel dock is also appreciated but I don't believe that will make any differance to our decision to try the creek.

Do you know the true depth of the entrance? We have a friend with a 5'8" draft that might be tagging along.

Thanks Again

I'm not sure of the depth of the entrance. You could try calling Atlantic Marina and ask them. I have to ask....why do you want to go there? I don't recall ever seeing anyone on the hook there. Maybe you know someone with a pier there?

For more info, try emailing me via this site.

Magothy destination

First if you are Google it. It is Magothy w/o 2nd "a". There is 5-6 water at mid tide but do not try it if Northerly blowing. I used to live across the river and it can drop a good foot or so with North wind. Much nicer place is in the bight at top of island
