"Go fast" in a 8' Livingston dinghy I'm replacing my 2hp motor with more HP. Does anyone know what performance to expect from 3,4,5,6 ?? hp with a fully loaded boat. 450 pounds is the rated load. I really want to know the minimum hp to plane. Thanks

tiller extension

Hi John, When I was the only one in the dinghy, I had a hard time getting it to plane, so, I bought a tiller extension. I can sit farther forward and the boat planes nicely. It's not the answer your looking for, but it's a thought.
