Might that be the upper east coast? It seems the entire region is getting slapped and we are in the very earliest of hurricane season, typically that means the storm is a true rarity and given the water temp big nasty storms are even a rarer breed.

Arthur hit on the 4th of July last year. It seems that storms are in an early pattern the last two seasons.

Yes, the upper east coast does get the storms but the worst winds we have seen in 2 weeks is 30 knots. Other than that just some rain.

I thought I heard about a NAMED storm already hitting the east coast of the US this year. Yeah, Tropical Storm Ana. Made landfall May 10th. Nothing like a wake up call for sailors.

We're here because the crowds have thinned out, the water has warmed up (even more) and typically the winds and seas slack off making snorkeling the reefs easier.
There are hundreds of boats that stay down here year round. Serious storms dont usually fire up till Aug/Sep here.
We can manage 40k winds, just prefer not to.

We tied up at a resort marina for .50/ft for 3 or 4 days. Enjoying the first class air conditioned lounge, nice showers and free laundry.

Sounds like you guys are still having too much fun. We anchored beside you at Treasure Cay, you were just beginning your research for the best sailors bar in the Abaco's :D looking forward to reading this when it gets published !

Hope the weather settles down.

That sounds like a great marina, can you share the name  we are used to paying $5 a load to wash.

Fair winds, Bob, Sherry & Charles

Emerald Bay marina. About 10 miles N of George Town

The .55 rate is for docks with no power or water.
Full service docks run about 2.50; elec is .85/kw and water is .45/ga. Very Very nice place. Almost empty right now, snowbirds are gone and the Fl kids are still in school. Summer rush starts next week.
