--Re-posted from Destinations Forum-- I am considering relocating to Pensacola, FL. Are liveaboard slips readily available/affordable in the area? If so, any recommendations? I don't know whether I will do it, or not, but have an opportunity in Pensacola if, and only if, relocating doesn't interfere with my lifestyle of choice. Besides, the trip over there, with just a little wind God willing, would be interesting. arjay

$5-$9 average and up

most marinas allow live aboard for a slight extra charge. our slip in Little Sabine is $9 ft. it is very protected water and right in the heart of Pensacola Beach. if I can help you further email ssjellyfish@aol.com

Thanks Dan...how's the availability?

I will email you Dan...appreciate the information. I will know this week if I'll be moving to Pensacola or not. I'm paying $9.50/ft here in Jacksonville, which is about what they're all getting here, if you can find a slip that is. The marinas are caving to condo pressure locally, although they are meeting some pretty stiff resistance, which keeps the available marinas pretty full, especially for larger slips. arjay

Sounds good Dan

I've done a little browsing and I believe I found the marina on a local map. Looks like a well-protected location. Any water depth problems? I like the neighborhood bar on premises..takes alot of the edge off of the weather this time of year!

on a very low winter tide

with a real strong N wind the channel will blow out to down around 6 ft. most of the time it is 8-10 ft. the bar is a little "locals" hangout and the bathhouse is real nice too. P'cola Beach is more like St Augustine than Jax.
