live aboard

hunter 19 slaughter beach
just spent a week in the Keys and am interested in spending a week or two living aboard a sailboat in a marina and doing some sailing
Never did this before Have a hunter 19 at home in Delaware but this is probably not adequate
any suggestions
can i rent one in florida? Does it make sense to get a larger one and trailer it down ?

The only limitation is your wallet size. You can rent anything from a dinghy to a 400 ft boat in the Keys or anywhere else in Florida.

You can get a charter most any place. It just depends on what you want.

Goggle for Sailboat Charters in the area that you may be interested in visiting. You are probably look at something in the 30ft range as a minimum size.

Here are some boats with rates( http://www.sailingflorida.com/sailing.html ). The Hunter 290 would be adequate for two or three. It is not in the Keys where rates are higher. But it will give you an idea. I once chartered a Hunter 460 from this company, the original "Summer Breeze". Then you have to add the cost of any nights in a marina, figure a minimum of $2.00 per foot.
