Live aboard, Long Island

Can anyone give me any information about places to dock and live aboard year-round on Long Island?

I've seen it done in Stamford, CT

There are some that are doing it at the Brewers Yacht Haven there. Some stay at Brewers year round. But a few move up to different marina for the winter becuase its a bit cheaper for the winter.

How bad of an idea is it? I'm getting close to selling my house and buying a new boat to live on.

Hempstead Harbor

There's a Brewers Marina and Glen Cove Marina. Not sure about Brewers, but Glen Cove Marina has year round live aboards.
