I saw a post somewhere (Hunter 260 forum, maybe) about linking the rudder to the engine for better steering under power, especially reversing. Has anyone tried that on a Mac classic? Any photos?

@Kermit posted a How-to with part numbers a few years back. Do a search for tiller linkage

I used a Panther steering linkage setup for my H260. I could hardly back where i wanted to at all without it. Also made steering in forward a million times easier when in tight spaces. I’m not particularly handy but it wasn’t rocket surgery installing it. Good luck!

Most of these set ups look like they rotate the engine 1:1 with the rudder. Does anybody use a set up that has a ratio other than 1:1?

I’m not sure why you would want anything other than 1:1. The Panther rod is simply that. A rod with well-engineered hardware for attaching, rotating and removing.
