I would like to rig my Oday 23 so that I can raise or douse the jib from the cockpit . Any and all suggestions , general or specific , will be greatly appreciated . Thanks.

I did that with a 21' years ago. the minimum hardwre would be a halyard block at the base of the mast. A cheek block for running the line to near the handrail on the cabin and aft to some kind of cleat near the cockpit. Hardware for each line would be aprox $100 plus you would no doubt require a longer halyard. It worked great but it's tough to keep a large headsail out of the water when dousing. Good luck.
