Lines at the end of the boom?

I think the lines at the end of the boom are hooked up wrong. I looked in the archives and it didn't quite answer the questions. I think the center line (which is a cable) is for the outhaul. But at the other end of the boom by the mast it comes out on the bottom and hooks to a horn cleat. Should the reef line go here and the other one to the jam cleat? This makes more sense to me. The other line in the topping lift and goes also to a jam cleat. Could someone confirm if this is correct? On another unrelated note what does "A bone in her teeth" mean? I have seen this is several articles and haven't figured it out. Thanks, Rob Morton

Hunter 25.5 Wareham, Ma
A Bone in her teeth.

Means the boat moving along with white water being pushed up around her bow. As far as the your lines go you'll have to let everyone know what kind of boat you have.

Hunter?

If you have a Hunter, chances are that someone will have an owners manual that has a boom rigging diagram.

boom lines

On my 99 240 the steel cable is for the topping lift. It cleats on the bottom of the boom. The backhaul is on the port side of the boom. The third is the reefing line. ross
