I have tried contacting him via his blog and direct message on this forum but haven't heard anything back. Just giving this a bump in the hopes he has been busy and will see it when he has some downtime. Thanks.

Boat drawings

Sorry, SerenityTC; I should pick up the messages here more quickly. Send me an e-mail at cherubiniways@gmail.com and let me know specifically what you're after.

We're currently establishing a 'product line' and a website for these offerings-- the trouble's been the investment(s). The drawings, however, are indeed beautiful and I've no hesitation about selling a few ASAP, especially if word-of-mouth ensues. I have not yet reached out to Phil about this but rest assured this site is prime on my list of possible distributors for this artwork and I think Phil will be ecstatic over a chance to have these offered through the sailboatowners.com chandelry.

I do not have drawings of all the Hunter boats. For example I don't have a sail plan of the H25, as-produced. I have only the 'customized' one my dad drew later. The designs were never owned by my dad and we never had the rights to them. This is another thing that's held this up. However the new regime at Marlow-Hunter is a blessing in disguise, since having denied being in possession of any of my dad's work (as though it no longer exists or never happened) they can't enforce a copyright claim. The boat drawings will NOT be marketed as 'Hunter 30' or whatever; they will be listed as '29'11" masthead sloop, 1973' and Hunter owners will have to browse the (online) catalogue to find their favorites.

I'll have links posted on sailnet and with Good Old Boat and a few others; so it'll be easy to find.

I can't tell you they'll be cheap; but I have a sailboat too so I know what it means to want more for less. I won't commit to price ranges here but they just have to be kept in line with pricing of quality art-museum posters ($35-55-?). I only hope I can have them printed that well to do them that kind of justice. Don't shoot me if they end up costing a little more. I won't overcharge anyone for anything but I do need to cover my own rear end, you know.

I will be attending the Annapolis show on Friday and one main objective is to find retailers willing to stock and distribute these; so it all has to be somewhat in place by then.

I look forward to hearing from people posting or administrating this wonderful bulletin-board site we have here about these drawings. You can let me know how big you'd like to have them, in what formats (digital will be somewhat problematic) and especially which particular drawings you'd like to see made available (soonest). My favorite idea so far is to have them in 8"x10" 'miniature-poster size' for our own boats' bulkheads, which I think would be very cool. ;)

Thanks, John! I sent you email to the address you provided. Best of luck at the Annapolis show and hope you are able to get this venture up and running soon.
