line diameter Hunter 49

hi, I've snapped the contiuous control line for my in mast furler on my 49, yes I was asking too much from it on the way here to the Azores but it was also well ready for replacement. I've picked up 10mm line but I'm now thinking that maybe I should have gone 12mm. is there a recommended line size, I've searched everywhere to no advantage.

This document says 10mm on page 7. Looks like you did it right.

Ouch!! Ditto ice breaker ..........just to add, suggest a low stretch, high breaking strength line, which is what I use on my Hunter 46 with same diameter.

Just a comment having replaced that on my 38 recently. When I did the end to end splice I was careful about not getting any twist in the line, I still have about a 1/4-1/2 turn twist over the whole loop. It tends to accumulate right in front of the clutch. To date hasn't caused any problems but just a word to the wise to be careful about introducing and twist.

thanks for replies, I went with a low stretch 12mm and works well.
