Can somebody tell me where the lifting points for a 2010 hunter 36 are located? My boat has the factory stickers showing the lifting points, but I am suspecting that the forward ones are incorrectly located. The lifting points are usually located right where the bulkheads are, but mine are locared way aft of the forward bulkhead. I looked at another hunter 36 the club, and my suspicion is confirmed.

I think you will find sling positions (there are only 2) are based on balance and missing vulnerable fittings. Jack stand positions, on the other hand, are very much based upon bulkhead location. Slings are temporary and naturally spread the load.

Ben, I agree with Thinwater, the boat will balance well and the cradle pads will be free to be positioned where they need to be.

Wherever the lift operator decides they are. Placement of the slings is not that critical, I would worry more about the jackstands.

I do it every year and the forward sling is just in front of the keel i.e. just in front of the forward window in the hull. The aft sling need to be far back because the boat is very heavy in the back. No problem to lift. I have a saildrive which might make it easier. There should be two marks on each side.

tell that to the owner that has damage to prop shafts because the yard doesn't care where the straps go, or cracks a bulkhead or grid by being too far off the points

trusting the lift operator to know dozens of locations is an expensive lesson. For the owner

check for factory marks or contact the boat manufacturer for safe places to lift from, then use a permanent marker or decal to mark the points where at least you can see them, and then make sure to point them out to the yard workers.

So taking this a little farther then after the boat is OFF the slings.......on a 356/36 where exactly should the cradle pads line up on the hull? Has anyone measured how far forward the front cradle 'arch' should be forward of the knotmeter through hull? Or where the back pads should be relative to some other hull 'landmark'?

Check my website www.valetta.n.nu click Loggbok and go further down there is a picture with my boat on land with six stanchions. There is also a picture of it hanging in the truck but unfortunally it's from the aft.
