I need to replace my motor mounts. The actual mount replacement is pretty straight forward but I have 1 question.

Can I safely jack the motor up from underneath with a scissors jack?
I have some plywood to spread the load, the engine pan should be OK, but what about the bottom of the boat. There are 2 fibreglass beams carrying the motor but will the bottom of the sump take the load?

Unbolt the coupling and lift and change one side at a time. I used a scissor jack as you suggest.Measure the height of the old mounts and preset the new ones. This minimizes realignment.

I did mine with a crow bar and some blocks of wood to shim it up 1/2" .......just enough to get one at a time out setting the new mounts close to where the old ones were and then did a slow and painful coupling alignment that worked out just fine
BTW I loosened all the top nuts on the other mounts so when lifting there was no strain on them
