Do you need to drain the tank prior to lifting a 260 out of the water on slings? Thanks

Just open ballast valve

When they hauled my 23.5 I left the ballast valve open and it drained as they lifted it. No problems.

Be sure to open the valve and pull the plug before you have the boat lifted so that the ballast tank will drain as the boat comes out of the water. Remember, the ballast tank holds approximately 2000 lbs. of water that is meant to be supported by the water outside the hull. Severe stresses could occur as a result of keeping the water ballast in the tank as you lift the boat. Steve

Bloody oath!

When I pull mine out of the water on the trailer i only pull it just out so that the tank can drain. Once drained pull it the rest of the way. Do not want to break her in half.
