Just purchased a 1976 Cherubini 25 with a cabin pop top. Is there an easy way to raise it?
Previous owner used his head ...I. e. lifted it with his head. Hope there is an easier way.

Go to Catalina Direct and you will find a kit for the Cat 25 pop top that is just that. You could easily adapt it or figure out how to make your own with a couple brackets and tailgate struts from an auto parts store. Easier is better - in this case.
Cheers,
Tim

Ah ha. Main problem was binding on the forward bar from years of people standing on the cabin roof. It had deformed enough to eliminate any clearances, thus binding. Woke up early with a thought to just add a couple of shims. It worked. Girlfriend loves the new headroom at the dock or anchor and all is well. Well ...for that problem anyway. It is still pretty heavy so gas struts might be an answer. Thanks for your thoughts.

Gas struts from AutoZone or someplace. Same as the "Marine" ones at half the price. Brackets shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
