Ok- I'lll check with Buck about my broken blade. Thanks- glad my info was wrong.

I also own one to the Yachtsman's. Sheep foot blade and locking spike. It lives aboard the boat always, on a lanyard.:)

For us, warranties are pretty useless, even for big ticket items. Should something fail, it is most likely something we use almost daily, and we don't have the luxury of sending it back to the manufacturer for repairs. With customs on both ends and freight, it become an exercise in wasted time and money, plus quite often, a lot of frustration. Being stuck in one place for an indeterminate period of time, waiting (I've yet to encounter a company that has any sort of "priority" warranty system) for something to be repaired and shipped really sucks.
It's unfortunate, but that is the reality, if one is far from home.

Last Spring I took a Taylormade fender to WM because it developed cracks at the top near the eye. I was told by the store mgr that it hadn't failed yet but, as a sign of good customer service, he would exchange it for new.

Then he said that they were no longer going to honor the lifetime warranty unless I had the original sales receipt.

Wonder if TM will replace if I sent one to them direct?
